Neo Blythe Sally Salmagundi, Meet My first Blythe Doll

I first saw Neo Blythe dolls last 2013 on Flicker, they were dressed gorgeously and the pictures were all stunning.  I was a bit sad that I never heard of them while we have been living in Japan, to think we were there for 7 years! I've thought of ordering them but Junie Moon, their official retailer online was already sold out and I really don't like the idea of paying more and getting it on Ebay without the assurance that its the real thing.  Life went on and I have forgotten about them for a while. I love baking and decorating cakes and cupcakes but carpal tunnel syndrome is preventing me from indulging too much on them anymore plus I had developed an allergy from soap due to the the constant washing of hands and baking utensils so I diverted my attention to crafting miniature ones and I have pleaded with dear hubby to help me make a coffee shop that I can use as a backdrop for taking pictures. I was in the Philippines for two months and while I was gone he went on a shopping spree buying too much Barbie dolls! I have been collecting the furniture series and not the Barbie dolls for some time now but never really opened them, I keep on telling myself I will one day when we are done with the Navy and we are finally settled somewhere without thinking of having to pack and unpack and move every 3 years. I want to make elaborate rooms and set ups for those furniture someday.

Two weeks ago, I was talking to a friend about dolls and I remembered the Blythe dolls and went ahead and looked up Junie Moon again to show her and thats when I saw Sally, the other doll Jane Lefroy is already sold out, I wanted to get her too, she looked like she came straight out of the pages of Jane Eyre novels! I debated about getting Sally, well we have the same name and hubby is in the navy. I was thinking if I don't get her, I might miss the chance again and it would be sold out and I will regret it. I went ahead and splurged and waiting for her to get here from Japan was such a long wait! But wow, Im so in love with her, she's so pretty and dainty. I love all her eye chips except for the orange one. The green one was gorgeous and I took another closer shot. I love her hair too, although its a bit tangled and it keeps on getting in her eyes. I wish I know how to sew, Id love to make a bunch of clothes for her! For the meantime I need to borrow some clothes from the other dolls. I cant wait to play with her and take pictures of her but I have to work on wax seals and stir sticks order for this week.

Have a great weekend and don't forget to play!!!

Custom 2x3 Magnets for the Burget Family

I met Stephanie in 2011 when she inquired about the peel and stick faux wax seals through my Etsy shop, I mistakenly thought it was going to be for her wedding but it turned out that it would be for her daughter Madison's 5th birthday party. I always wonder where my clients use the seals for and Stephanie was nice enough to add me on Facebook so I could look at her awesome pictures of her fabulous party! I was in awe of her talent and she is one cool mom I hope I can be when I have kids of my own. I was joking with her I hope I can get stationed near her so I can crash her parties :) We haven't met in person but Im so blessed to have known them and her awesome family!

I saw her family pictures for their holiday cards and I asked her if she can ask her wonderful photographer if I can use them and if they wouldn't mind at all, I would like to use them for my Etsy listings too. Well, too much orders and getting the nasty flu right before Christmas, I never had the chance to list them up at all! So I will have it listed for the holidays this year or do a very early listing for that matter!

The wonderful pictures were taken by Clover Creek Photography. I browsed her page and I just want to ask her if she could ask all her clients if I could use all of their pictures, they were all lovely! I really enjoyed working on these magnets. Hope you enjoy them too!

You are Loved and You are Beautiful 2x3 Magnets in Chalk Font with Ombre Colours

I must sound like a crazy person whenever I keep on repeating how I love to craft and how lucky I am to make a living out of it. But I really, really do love my job which doesn't feel like one, it feels like I am just playing most of the time. And I am so grateful that I have this gift of being creative and super patient. A couple of days ago I wrote about the Richard Bach inspired magnets I have made and I just cant stop thinking about the other designs inside my head, they are calling me, teasing me, until I gave in and worked on them. It is so hard to stop and I really tried my best to stick to just a few designs for now. It is crazy how I feel like I am falling madly in love every time I am working on a new project, how I get so excited and I feel so elated when it gets almost done and I just cant help smiling and admiring it and being so happy about the whole thing.

The background might appear lighter or darker depending on the light glare and how far the camera is from the magnets. The mylar cover kinda gives a glare to it so its really challenging taking pictures of it.

I was done editing, printing, pressing, taking pics and editing the following design before I noticed that the Y is kind off from the o, so I will go back and check what happened with that one. I was too happy with it and didn't catch that imperfection at all until it was almost half the size of the computer screen :)

I was done making all the magnets above when I went back and edited a few more. And I just thought that Hello Love is simple and yet so powerful and it would appeal and apply just to everyone dear to us.

And I think it would be cute to do the I love you with the same ombre effect.

This is actually the very first one I did and it took me a some time and a couple of print outs and editing before I was happy enough with the outcome.

I hope you guys enjoyed them. Let me leave you with a quote about finding your life's purpose.

"There is no greater gift you can give or receive than to honor your calling. It's why you were born. And how you become truly alive."

Lalaloopsy Tags and Punched Out Paper Buttons for Aizhamae's 7th Birthday

I found some pink glittery paper and I knew it would just be so cute to use for the tags. Ive used a paper punch that measures 2 inches for the scalloped ones and 1.5 inches for the round printed one.

I know I have a button puncher but I still haven't unpacked that box and no idea which box I should open so I just went ahead and bought another Martha Stewart button puncher. it punches and emboss at the same time. It would be nice to add to loot bags or just confetti scattered on tables for that added button cuteness!

Lalaloopsy 2.25 inches Magnets for Aizhamae's 7th Birthday

I tried to limit the designs to only 6 and tried using the same ones from the Hershey Kisses labels, although I did not include the boy design coz the birthday celebrant wants it to be all girls. I find it really challenging to take pictures coz theres so much glare from the mylar cover of the magnet.

Its 2 am now and I just finished stamping flexible wax seals for a client in New York so I would be keeping this one short.

Hope everyone is having a great week! Don't forget to have some fun :)

Richard Bach Inspired 2x3 Magnet Quote

I decided to take a break from my Lalaloopsy blog posts even though I probably still have 2 or 3 more projects to share with you. I have invested on a tecre magnet machine  and I really have been wanting to make magnets with my favorite quotes in them with the pictures I have taken but doing so would require so much time sorting through pictures. Last week I found journals to add to my ever growing collection and one of them has the chalkboard design to it which I really loved. I have seen someone hired by Oprah Magazine a while back to design the magazine cover for them using chalk writings, I was in the middle of writing that and did a quick google search and found there article here. Don't you just love the power of google and the whole wide web? Amazing! So moving on to this project, I kept on thinking there must be a way to design the magnets that way.  I usually edit pictures using my MacBook where I have Lightroom and Photoshop installed, but I only use Lightroom. I have to use my Sony notebook to edit graphics for most of my crafts using Printmaster. I have been using Printmaster since 1998 so yes, thats a long time already and I probably can say I have somewhat mastered designing there so even though I have the convenience of having Photoshop, learning the ropes can be quite tricky. I honestly don't have time right now, with us moving from Japan to Illinois, Im still not done unpacking all of our stuff, all 17,500 lbs of it and the million paper used to wrap all of my tea cups, tea pots and crystals. On top of that I have to work on seal orders and try my best to organize my craft room. I have so much stuff that just sorting one set of item feels like its taking forever. I really have to motivate myself to stay on top of things to update my blog regularly and I cant wait to finish my craft room and share it with all of you!

I told myself I would just make one and see how well it would work out but I ended up printing 4 of them, the other one, I was too excited that I didn't see I messed up and Richard Bach was missing so I didnt use that one. I cant wait to have more free time to sit down and design more magnets and start listing them on my Etsy shop. I think it would look better if its bigger, I don't think it shows too well especially when I used the pink font but I still have other designs inside my super busy head to work on later, time permitting.

I first started reading Richard Bach's books when I was in high school and I cant remember who influenced me to read his wonderful works but up to this day my heart skips a beat when I see his books in stores.

What really resonated well with me after all these years is the following quote:

"Every person, all the events of your life are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is up to you"

I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and whether it is good or bad, we can always learn something from it and we always have the power within us to turn things around. It is up to us to continue loving someone or let them go, it is up to us to continue letting someone hurt us or love us. We have the power in our own hands to stop someone from continually giving us a false hope that one day, they would love us back with the same intensity we have been loving them or that one day they would change for the better and stop hurting and lying to us. It is not a hopeless case, it never is. We need to be reminded every now and then that we have the inner strength to walk away from something or someone that doesn't help us grow to be a better person because we do deserve so much better than that. Remember, what you choose to do with them is up to you....

Lalaloopsy Candy Sticks for Aizhamae's 7th Birthday

Last year when my niece and nephew ordered kisses stickers for a friends Mickey Mouse themed party, they requested that hopefully next time it would just be the easier version of a peel and stick so I went ahead and invested on blank templates as opposed to punching them one by one. The problem is the alignment on the printer, its like a hit or miss thing which surely drives me crazy. So for this Lalaloopy kisses labels I have printed so much test pages and I was wondering what to do with it and I remembered I bought a bunch of Wilton Candy Sticks from our recent trip to Pennsylvania, I went ahead tried cutting it into strips and just wrapped it around the candy sticks and it worked great!

I love this container from Bath and Body Works! I actually bought it for this purpose :)

I really love this Wilton Candy Sticks, I think its an adorable addition to any loot bags or candy buffets!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're having a great and productive day!
